“Pika, Pika!”
Are you familiar with this sound? Yes! It is from Pikachu, one of the most popular characters in the Japanese cartoon series Pocket Monster.
Pocket Monster is about the growth of a ten-year-old boy, Ash, and he’s Pokémon Pikachu. They travel together from one town to another, looking for adventures(冒险) and taking part in Pokémon competitions. In the end, Ash is able to overcome(克服) all his difficulties to realize his dream of being a great master of pocket monsters.
I got to know Pocket Monster by chance when I was seven years old. The cartoon series attracted me immediately. I was deeply impressed not only by the pocket monsters’ cuteness but also by Ash and Pikachu’s spirit of never giving up. I truly love Pocket Monster. I hope that someday, I can keep a real Pikachu as my pet!
