[Saudi Arabia to Host F1 Race in 2021]

Saudi Arabia announced yesterday that it will host a Formula One grand prix for the first time in 2021 with a night race on the streets of the country's second city Jeddah. 

Organized by the Ministry of Sports in collaboration with the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, the race comes as part of a 15-year partnership with F1. Jeddah's first race, set to place along the banks of the Red Sea, will be held in November of next year. Formula One's current season has been restricted by the COVID-19 pandemic to 17 races in Europe and the Middle East but the sport is hoping for a more complete race calendar in the 2021 season, with a possibility of 23 races.

F1官宣沙特阿拉伯将在2021年正式加入F1赛历，比赛时间是在明年11月份，比赛地点是在沙特第二大城市吉达，届时将会以夜间街道赛形式呈现。F1主席兼CEO切斯凯里表示：“这一地区对我们来说非常重要，目前在沙特30岁以下人口占70%，我们很高兴能够接触到新的粉丝，并为我们的现有粉丝在这一历史悠久的地方带来激动人心的比赛。”

受到疫情影响，2020赛季F1的赛历不得不经历多次改动，车迷们因此格外关心2021年赛历的情况。切斯凯里介绍：“我们将在未来几周内发布完整的2021赛季初步赛历，并将其提交给世界汽车运动理事会批准。”
