The Yellow Crane Tower, a landmark tourist attraction in Wuhan, will launch night tours, the latest move to boost the city's tourism after the COVID-19 epidemic subsided. The night tours will be available during the coming National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Oct 1 to 8. 
武汉市地标性旅游景点黄鹤楼将开放夜间游览，这是该市有效控制新冠肺炎疫情后为促进旅游业发展而推出的最新举措。在即将到来的10月1日至8日国庆中秋假期，黄鹤楼将开放夜游。

It will be the first time the historic building will open night viewing since it opened to the public in 1985 after reconstruction. Visitors will be allowed to ascend the building to appreciate the full moon as well as a light show that will be staged during the period. Perching by the Yangtze River, the 1,800-year-old Yellow Crane Tower often appeared in ancient Chinese literary works. It has been destroyed and rebuilt many times in history.

First Trump-Biden debate

US President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden will square-off in the first debate of the 2020 presidential race at 9 pm on Tuesday. The debate will take place in the battleground state of Ohio and is scheduled to last about 90 minutes. FOX News anchor Chris Wallace was chosen to moderate the event. Trump, Biden and moderator Chris Wallace will not wear masks at Tuesday's debate, per final negotiations between the campaigns. 
当地时间9月29日晚上9时，美国总统特朗普和民主党总统候选人拜登将在摇摆州俄亥俄州进行2020年美国总统选举首场电视辩论，整场辩论预计将持续90分钟左右。福克斯新闻的克里斯•华莱士将担任主持。根据两个竞选阵营之间的最后谈判，特朗普、拜登和主持人克里斯•华莱士在这场辩论中都不会佩戴口罩。

The two sides have decided to forego the traditional pre-debate handshake in light of the virus, according to a person with direct knowledge of the negotiations. They also won't do an elbow-bump, a coronavirus-era handshake substitute which both campaigns saw as awkward. And unlike past presidential debates, there will be a limited audience of only 75 to 80 people, all of whom will be tested for the virus prior to attending the debate.

380 whales die in stranding

About 380 whales have died in what is suspected to be Australia's largest stranding on record, officials say. Since Sept 21, hundreds of long-finned pilot whales have been found beached on Tasmania's west coast. It is not fully understood why the whales became stranded. 
澳大利亚官员表示，该国发生有记录以来规模最大的鲸鱼搁浅事件，大约有380头鲸鱼死亡。自9月21日以来，人们在塔斯马尼亚州西海岸发现了数百头搁浅的长肢领航鲸。目前还不完全清楚鲸鱼搁浅的原因。

The species is known to be prone to getting beached. Researchers say it's possible that one leading individual could have mistakenly led the whole group to shore. The stranding, one of the largest ever recorded globally, eclipses a previous national record of 320 set in Western Australia in 1996.

Care insurance scheme expands
长期护理险试点将扩围

China has added 14 regions to its trials for a long-term care insurance scheme to explore the establishment of a new type of insurance to ensure long-term care for people with severe disabilities. The newly added regions, including Beijing's Shijingshan district, Tianjin municipality, and Fuzhou in Fujian province, bring the total number of the scheme's pilot regions to 49, according to the guidelines jointly issued by the National Healthcare Security Administration and the Ministry of Finance. 
国家医保局会同财政部近日印发指导意见，明确将长期护理险试点扩围，新增了14个试点市(区)。探索建立长期护理保险制度，旨在解决重度失能人员长期护理保障问题。此次长期护理保险制度试点名单里新增了北京市石景山区，天津市、福建省福州市等14个试点市(区)，至此，长期护理保险制度试点市(区)已扩至49个。

The trials for the scheme were launched in several provincial-level regions in 2016. The scheme provides services or funds for basic and medical care for people with long-term disabilities. By the end of 2019, China had more than 250 million people aged 60 and above and over 40 million elderly people with disabilities.
2016年，我国启动长期护理保险制度试点，为重度失能人员的基本生活和医疗护理提供服务或费用。截至2019年年底，我国60岁以上的老人超2.5亿人，其中失能、半失能老年人超过4000万人。
