人生不总是阳光明媚

The sun is bright, - the air is clear,

阳光明媚，空气清新，

The darting swallows soar and sing.

轻捷的燕子在飞来飞去地啼叫，

And from the stately elms I hear

从那参天榆木的繁茂枝叶中，

The bluebird prophesying spring.

我听到了知更鸟在预报春天的来到。

So blue you winding river flows,

远处蜿蜒流淌的河流那么的湛蓝，

It seems an outlet from the sky,

就像这河水原是从天上泻来，

Where waiting till the west-wind blows,

望天上，在冬天的西风吹来之前，

The freighted clouds at anchor lie.

载着水珠的云彩总在静静地休憩。

All things are new; - the buds, the leaves,

万象在更新；新顶出的嫩芽，嫩叶

That gild the elm-tree's nodding crest,

把榆树摇曳的枝梢着上一层金黄，

And even the nest beneath the eaves;

就是屋檐下的鸟巢也是新筑的；

There are no birds in last year's nest!

去年的旧巢里已经不再有鸟儿歌唱!

All things rejoice in youth and love,

自然万物都沉浸在青春和爱的欢乐之中，

The fullness of their first delight!

这是生机盎然的新到来的欢乐!

And learn from the soft heavens above

他们白天享有明朗和暖的天空

The melting tenderness of night.

晚上又沐浴着温馨柔和的夜色。

Maiden, that read'st this simple rhyme,

姑娘，当你读到这朴素的诗行，

Enjoy thy youth, it will not stay;

你当尽享你的青春，因为它不会停留；

Enjoy the fragrance of thy prime,

你要尽享你美丽年华的芬芳，

For oh, it is not always May!

噢!因为人生不可能总是阳光明媚!

Enjoy the Spring of Love and Youth,

享受这洋溢着青春和爱的春天，

To some good angel leave the rest;

把其余的留给好心的天使照顾；

For Time will teach thee soon the truth,

因为时间很快就会让你懂得这条格言，

There are no birds in last year's nest!

去年的旧巢里已不再有鸟儿眷顾。

【作者介绍】

朗费罗，H．W. ，全名Henry Wadsworth Longfellow，美国诗人。1807年 2月27日出生于缅因州波特兰城一个律师家庭。1822年进入博多因学院，与霍桑是同班同学。1825年毕业，先后去过法国、西班牙、意大利和德国等地，研究这些国家的语言和文学。1836年开始在哈佛大学讲授语言、文学，致力于介绍欧洲文化和浪漫主义作家的作品，成为新英格兰文化中心剑桥文学界和社交界的重要人物。
