MUCH ADO ABOUT BUGS

THE MUSICIAN
Rubbing forewings with delight
His musical songs fill the night.
And a cricket singing on the hearth -
A hundred-thousand songs is worth.
His voice is shrill, that’s true, and yet
He makes a very lovely pet.

THE PARTY GIRL
Ladybug, ladybug, it’s really a pity
You can’t come to my party
Your dress is so pretty:
With black dots on red,
You’re a beautiful sight;
But you’re wearing the same dress
I’m wearing to-night

THE BOXER
A snail - like a slug,
Is not really a bug;
You can call him an escargot too.
And slugging can foster
An excellent boxer,
But fighting they don’t do - do you
 ?

A GOOD EXAMPLE
Don’t needle the beetle,
He’s really not evil,
He eats all his vegetables too;
As a matter of fact,
When it comes to that,
I bet he does better than you.
