Hello, my name is Sam. It’s nearly your bedtime, but would you like to hear a story first? Great! It’s bedtime for Arthur in tonight’s story and he’s not very happy about it. The story is called Angry Arthur. It’s by Hiawyn Oram, with pictures by Satoshi Kitamura.

你好，我是萨缪尔（山姆）。快到睡觉的时间啦，但是你想先听一个故事吗？非常好！今晚的故事是关于亚瑟的，他现在很不开心。故事的名字叫《生气的亚瑟》，作者是希亚文·奥拉姆，由北村悟绘图。

Once there was a boy called Arthur. He wanted to stay up and watch the Western on TV. “No,” said his mother.”It’s too late, go to bed.”“I’ll get angry,” said Arthur. “Get angry,” said his mother.

从前，有一个小男孩，他的名字叫亚瑟。有一天晚上，他想看西部牛仔片，不肯睡觉。“不行。”妈妈说，“太晚了，去睡觉。”亚瑟说：“我要生气了。”“你就生气吧。”妈妈说。

So he did. Very, very angry. He got so angry that his anger became a storm cloud, exploding thunder and lightning and hailstones.

亚瑟开始生气，他非常非常地生气，他气得好厉害，他的气化作一团乌云，爆发成闪电、雷和冰雹。

“That’s enough!” said his mother. But it wasn’t. Arthur’s anger became a hurricane, hurling rooftops and chimneys and church spires.

妈妈说：“够了够了。”可是，还不够。亚瑟的气形成强劲的旋风，掀走了屋顶，掀走了烟囱和教堂的尖塔。

“That’s enough,” said his father. But it wasn’t. Arthur’s anger became a typhoon, tipping whole towns into the seas.

爸爸说：“够了够了。”可是，还不够。亚瑟的气转为台风，把整个城镇吹进大海里。

“That’s enough!” said his grandfather. But it wasn’t. Arthur’s anger became an earth tremor...cracking the surface of the earth like a giant cracking eggs.

爷爷说：“够了够了。”可是，还不够。亚瑟的气引起了地球的颤动，地球的表面裂了，像被巨人打破的蛋壳。

“That’s enough!” said his grandmother. But it wasn’t. Arthur’s anger became a universe quake, and the earth and the moon and the stars and the planets, Arthur’s country and Arthur’s town, his street, his house, his garden and his bedroom were nothing more than bits in space.

奶奶说：“够了够了。”可是，还不够。亚瑟的气变成一场宇宙大爆炸。亚瑟的国家，城市和街道，他的家，庭院和卧室都只剩下小小的碎片，在空中飘浮。

Arthur sat on a piece of Mars and thought. He thought and thought. “Why was I so angry?” he thought. He never did remember. Can you?
