Earlier this month, I had the honour of meeting with some incredible veterans as they returned to the beaches of Normandy 75 years after they saved the world from the grip of fascism. 

本月初，我有幸会见了一些非常优秀的退伍军人，他们在75年前从法西斯主义的控制下拯救了世界，回到了诺曼底海滩。

While in Portsmouth, I visited our nation’s future flagship, the magnificent HMS Queen Elizabeth, as she prepares to protect our interests around the world on her first deployment. 

在朴茨茅斯期间，我参观了我们国家未来的战舰，宏伟的女王伊丽莎白号，她将在第一次部署准备中保护我们在世界各地的利益。

And, just last week, I watched with the rest of the nation as the RAF and Army worked tirelessly to save lives and homes from rising waters in Lincolnshire. 

就在上周，我和全国人民一起目睹了英国皇家空军和陆军，不知疲倦地努力从林肯郡不断上升的洪水中拯救人民的生命和家园。

Together, these scenes are a very real reminder of the debt we all owe to the wonderful men and women who serve yesterday, today and tomorrow, at home and across the oceans. 

总之，这些场景非常真实地提醒我们，我们都欠着那些昨天、今天和明天在国内和大洋彼岸出色的男女军人们的恩惠。

That is why I am proud to mark Armed Forces Day each year. It is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the contribution made by our Armed Forces; and an opportunity to do something we do not do often enough in the UK: to say thank you to all of you who choose to serve your country - whether Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force, full-time or reserve, the longest-serving veteran or the newest of recruits. 

这就是我为每年的武装部队纪念日而自豪的原因。这是一个庆祝和认可我们的军队所做贡献的机会；并且有机会在英国做一些我们不常做的事情：无论是皇家海军、陆军还是皇家空军，全职还是预备役，服役时间最长的老兵或最新招募的新兵——向所有选择为你们国家服务的人说声谢谢。

But Armed Forces Day is not just about our brave men and women in uniform. It is also a chance to remember the wider service community. Whether it is children who endure long periods apart from their mothers and fathers, or friends and families who do so much to support loved ones in uniform, you all play a part in making our Armed Forces the best in the world and the pride of our nation.

但武装部队日不仅仅是关于穿着制服的勇敢男女，这也是一个记住更广泛的服务社区的机会。无论是那些与父母分开长期生活的孩子，还是那些尽最大努力支持亲人的朋友和家庭，你们都在使我们军队成为世界上最好的军队和让我们为之自豪的国家中发挥了重要作用。

And all of you deserve both our gratitude and our thanks on Armed Forces Day, and every day.
