梗概

争吵过后，哈里陷入睡眠，当他醒来时天色已晚，仆人说女人去打猎了，为了照顾哈里对小动物的喜爱，特地避开了他视线范围内的区域。落得清净的哈里，开始和自己对话，从对话中我们隐约知道女人非常富有，而哈里显然曾经对这种富有安之若素，认为是理所当然的。当死亡临近，哈里又有点痛恨这财富给他带来的倦怠，这财富对他作家敏锐度的损害。
