A student suggests the school to create the community service requirement. First, it strengthens the relationship between the school and the town. It also helps students develop a love for community service for a lifetime. But the man in the conversation doesn’t think it’d work. According to him, it’s actually gonna hurt the relationship with the town instead. Students are gonna see it as a nuisance, which means they’re unenthusiastic about the task. So, of course, it’s gonna make the school look bad because the students don’t put their heart in it. As for a love for the service, it’s unrealistic cuz students are more likely to come away with negative feelings. With the bad experience, they’re not gonna continue if not forced to, especially not when their study suffers because of the requirement takes away their study time. Currently, the students already hold a grudge against it, so they’re not gonna do it for a lifetime.
