聊起我们很多人都很爱的Harry Potter，不得不佩服JK罗琳的脑洞。一直很好奇她是怎么构想出那么一个魔法王国的。

Rowling conceived the idea of Harry Potter on a train ride from Manchester to London when she was working for Amnesty International. 

JK罗琳在一列从曼彻斯特到伦敦的火车上构想出了哈利波特，当时她在Amnesty International工作。

And she wrote the first three chapters of her first Harry Potter book in Portugal where she lived with her first husband before they separated and she moved to Edinburgh. 

她在葡萄牙和第一任丈夫一起住的时候，写了哈利波特的前三个章节，后来她搬到了爱丁堡。

So where is Edinburgh? 

哪里是爱丁堡呢？
Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and one of its 32 council areas.

爱丁堡是苏格案的首府，也是它的32个委员会区域之一。

She took her baby in a stroller to the cafe every day. There she would order a cup of coffee and then while her baby slept she would proceed to write another chapter of her story, which when it was published in 1998 was called Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

她每天都推着婴儿车带宝宝一起去咖啡馆。她会点一杯咖啡。当宝宝睡着了，就继续写自己的故事。这本书《哈利波特与魔法石》在1998年发布了。

She was so poor that she found it cheaper to buy a cup of coffee and wrote in this cafe the whole day, rather than paying for her heating bill at home.

她很穷，发现去咖啡馆点一杯咖啡然后呆上一天，比自己在家还要交暖气费要便宜。

"Writing and cafes are strongly linked in my brain. I still write in longhand; I like physically shuffling around with papers; and you don't have to break off and go in the kitchen to make coffee."

“写作和咖啡在我脑力是紧紧联系在一起的。我依旧手写，我喜欢把玩纸张。并且我不用特地停下来去厨房做杯咖啡。”

So why do I talk about the benefits of failure? Simply because failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me. 

那么我为什么要谈论失败的好处呢？ 单纯地因为失败意味着能让我剥离些无关紧要的东西。 我不再假装自己是另一个人，而是开始全力以赴完成对我来说唯一重要的工作。
