名词时有十字架，十字叉的意思， 比如，

across 则为介词或副词，意思都是穿过，交叉，但由于词性关系一定要和别的动词搭配使用，比如：
I walk across the street, 我穿过马路。
two lines cut across each other, 两条线交叉。
I come across her on the street. 我在马路上碰到她。

简单来说就是看句子中有没有别的动词，已经有别的动词就只能搭配across
