In the morning, the racers took off and quickly left Dusty behind in the fog.


到了早上，各位选手都出发了，很快达斯蒂就被独自落在大雾里了。


Suddenly, Zed swooped (俯冲) down and broke off Dusty’s antenna (天线), stranding (搁浅) him over the ocean.


突然，泽德俯冲下来，撞坏了达斯蒂的天线，把他困在了海面上空。


Now Dusty had nothing to guide him. He spent hours flying aimlessly (漫无目的地)—and using up all his fuel.


现在，达斯蒂完全没有向导了。他漫无目的地飞了数小时——燃料耗尽了。


Luckily, two navy fighter jets, Echo (厄科) and Bravo (布拉沃), appeared and guided him back to their aircraft carrier (航空母舰), the Dwight D. Flysenhower (德怀特菲特亨威尔号) . That was Skipper’s old ship!


幸好，这时来了两架海军战斗机——厄科和布拉沃，他们引导达斯蒂飞回了他们的航空母舰——德怀特菲特亨威尔号。威风队长之前就在这里服役！


On board, Dusty saw a photo of Skipper on the Jolly Wrenches Wall of Fame (快乐扳手荣誉墙). His coach had only one mission listed to his name.


在船上，达斯蒂在快乐扳手荣誉墙上看到了一张威风队长的照片。原来，自己的教练只执行了一次任务。


Dusty was confused (困惑的). The way Skipper talked, it seemed as though (好像) he had flown lots of missions.


达斯蒂很困惑。威风队长跟他说话的语气仿佛他曾经执行过很多任务似的。


Dusty radioed home and asked Skipper about what he’d seen. “It’s true,” Skipper admitted, but there was no time to explain. A storm was brewing (酝酿), and Dusty had to leave right away if he wanted to stay in the race.


达斯蒂用无线电连接了威风队长，询问他有关自己的见闻。“没错，”威风队长承认了，但是没时间解释了。暴风雨正在酝酿，如果想继续留在比赛中，达斯蒂必须即刻出发。


Dusty was almost to Mexico when he crashed into the sea. “Mayday!” he called over the radio.


达斯蒂马上就要到墨西哥了，可是他却坠入了大海。“呼救！”他用无线电求救。


A Mexican navy helicopter (直升机) scooped (舀取) him out of the churning water just in time.


一架墨西哥军用直升机及时把他从翻滚的水里拉了出来。


Dusty’s friends were there when the helicopter delivered him to the airport in Mexico. Despite (尽管) his injuries, all Dusty cared about (关心) was knowing why Skipper had lied to him.


当直升机把达斯蒂运到墨西哥机场时，他的朋友已经先抵达这里了。尽管受了伤，达斯蒂满脑子只想知道威风队长为什么欺骗了自己。


Skipper explained that he had lost his entire squadron (空军中队) in a battle (战役) on his first and only mission. He hadn’t flown again since then.


威风队长解释说，在他的第一次也是唯一一次任务中，他失去了整个中队的队友。从那时起，他就再也不飞行了。


Dusty was heartbroken—and too busted up (破破烂烂的) to finish the rally.


达斯蒂很伤心——而且遍体鳞伤的达斯蒂无法完成比赛了。


Then El Chu appeared.


这时，艾尔出现了。


“Dusty, I cannot bear the thought of competing without you,” he said, giving his friend a pair of wings.


“达斯蒂，我受不了不能跟你一起比赛，”他说着，送给达斯蒂一副翅膀。


The other racers felt the same way. They also gave Dusty parts to replace his broken ones. Ishani even gave him her new propeller.


其他的选手也一样。他们都送给达斯蒂备用零件以替换他坏掉的零件。伊莎妮甚至把自己的新推进器送给了他。


Fixed up, Dusty was more determined than ever to win! He took off last but quickly caught up to (追上) Ripslinger over the desert (沙漠) in the final leg back to New York City.


修理好后，达斯蒂获胜的决心比任何时候都要强烈！在飞往纽约市的最后一程中，他虽然最后一个出发，但是很快就追上了在沙漠上空飞行的瑞普斯林。


Ripslinger wanted Dusty out of the race once and for all (彻底地). He closed in from above and forced Dusty toward the rocks!


瑞普斯林想让达斯蒂彻底退出比赛。他从高空接近达斯蒂，逼迫达斯蒂飞向岩石！


Suddenly, Skipper came roaring out of the sky and began to tangle with Ripslinger. Dusty couldn’t believe Skipper was flying!


突然，威风队长从天空中呼啸而过，与瑞普斯林展开了纠缠。达斯蒂不敢相信，威风队长可以飞了！


Ripslinger tore up Skipper’s tail with his propeller before zooming (迅速上升) off. Dusty was worried about his coach, but Skipper just laughed. “Go get him!” he ordered.


瑞普斯林用推进器撞坏了威风队长的尾翼，之后就疾速离开了。达斯蒂担心自己教练的安全，但是威风队长只是笑了笑，“去战胜他！”他命令道。


Dusty caught up with (赶上) Ripslinger, but he couldn’t push past his rival (对手). Then he gathered his courage, pulled up—and for the first time ever, broke through the clouds!


达斯蒂追上了瑞普斯林，但他始终不能从竞争对手身边挤过去。接着，他鼓起勇气，向上飞——有生以来第一次，穿过了云层！


“Whooo!” Dusty exclaimed as the tailwinds rocketed him forward.


“呜呼！”顺风推着达斯蒂迅速前进，达斯蒂兴奋地尖叫着。


As Ripslinger approached (接近) the finish line, he tilted (倾斜) towards the reporters and smiled for the cameras. Dusty saw his chance, dived down, and swooped around Ripslinger for the win!


接近终点线时，瑞普斯林侧过机身对着记者，对着相机保持着胜利者的微笑。达斯蒂抓住机会，向下俯冲，绕开瑞普斯林冲刺，他赢了！


Dusty landed to a cheering crowd. His friends were so proud! Dusty was grateful to all of them—especially Skipper—for helping him make his dream come true! He was truly a champion racer, and now the whole world knew it!


达斯蒂在阵阵欢呼中着陆了。朋友们都感到特别骄傲！达斯蒂对大家充满了感激——尤其是威风队长——大家帮他实现了自己的梦想！他成为了真正的冠军，现在，全世界都知道了冠军达斯蒂！
