I'm glad to know that you are interested in Chinese Social manners. Now, I will tell you something about them.
When it comes to meeting people for the first time ,It is important to arrive on time.Generally speaking, before shaking hands with others, we introduce ourselves first, then ask for other people's names politely. If invited to other's house, we may take a gift with us, but it doesn't have to be something of great value.
As for table manners in China, we eat meals using chopsticks. All the dishes are placed on the table and everyboby shares. During the meal, it's not surprising that the host may put some food into your bowl or plate using their chopsticks. If so, "thank you" is good enough.
I hope the above is helpful. Please feel free to ask for more information.
