Santa Claus
Bill had big boots. He stomped around the garden in his big boots.
He made big steps.“One, two, three, four,
FIVE!”
On Christmas Eve, it snowed. Bill counted his footprints in the snow,"One, two, three, four, FIVE!”
But what was this? Bill looked down and saw lots of very, very big footprints made by even bigger boots!
Then, he heard little bells and looked up. Who was that on the roof?“Ho! Ho! Ho!"
Wearing very big boots, dressed all in red, and with a big white beard, Santa Claus smiled at Bill."Ho! Ho! Ho!” laughed Santa.
“The number of footprints you count is the number of presents you will get!”
Bill smiled at Santa and waved. Then, he turned around to count the steps, “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, TEN!”
Bill looked up again. Santa was gone, but there was
a big red sack and a note by the porch.
"Merry Christmas, Bill! From SANTA.”
