Is Bat a Bird?-2
(adapted from an Indian tale) All was well until one day, the birds returned to fight again.
This time, the birds flew hard and attacked from the sky. Once again, Bat hid in a cave. This time, the birds won the fight.
Bat joined the birds in victory. One old bird said,“You are not one of us." But Bat cried,"I am a bird. I have wings."
Finally, the birds accepted him.
The animals and birds continued to fight for many years. Each time, Bat hid and waited to see which side won.
Finally, everyone was tired of fighting. Their wise leaders decided to make peace. But they wondered what to do with Bat.
The leaders said, “You have wings, but you are not a bird. You have teeth, but you are not an animal. Because of your tricks, you will fly only at night when the birds are asleep and the animals are hunting." And so it was. Bat was destined to live a lonely life.
