Hey guys, I have got some great news for you!

绿林少年组合就要来我们市啦！

The Greenwood boys are coming to our city.

Currently, they are touring all parts of China. (They are on tour巡回演出)

You must be wondering when they will arrive.

What is more exciting is that they will be staying here for five days.

And they will give one performance each day during this time.

甲壳虫乐队 The Beatles

这篇文章的主角提到了Greenwood boys这样的一个流行组合，根据亚历山大博士写作的背景年代和新概念2册本课的插图。我个人猜测，Greenwood Boys的原型很可能就是英国60年代风靡世界的甲壳虫乐队The Beatles。我们国内也翻译成了披头士乐队。

The Beatles可以说是摇滚乐史上最顶尖最成功的一支乐队。The Beatles were widelyregarded as the foremost and most influential rock band in history.

这支乐队于1960年成立于英国的利物浦。

The band was formed in Liverpool in 1960.

这只乐队有四个人组成，由约翰·列侬（John Lennon）、保罗·麦卡特尼（Paul McCartney），林戈·斯塔尔（Ringo Starr）和乔治·哈里森（George Harrison）四名成员组成。

披头士乐队历史上销量最高的乐队，在全球已售出约超过8亿张专辑（据百代唱片估计六亿至十亿）。

The Beatles are the best-selling band in history, with estimated sales of over 800 million albums worldwide.

六十年代歌迷对于The Beatles的狂热程度之高令人难以想象，英文中还专门产生了一个词来表述这种狂热：Beatlemania. Mania就是狂热的意思。

Mania means a strong desire for something or interest in something.

这种狂热现象开始于1963年。

The phenomenon began in 1963.

尽管1966年后Beatles已经不在公开现场演出，但这种狂热一直持续到1970年乐队解散之后。

The “Beatlemania” continued past the group's break-up in 1970,despite the band ceasing (停止) public performances in 1966.

那么这种对于披头士乐队的狂热到达什么程度呢？

1966年John Lennon在接受记者采访时说了：“We're more popular than Jesus."（我们比耶稣基督还更受欢迎）。  这句话在英国没有引起争议，但是5个月后在美国却引起了广大基督徒的不满，导致在美国南部甚至爆发了抗议活动。

最后，John Lennon不情愿的进行道歉。

Shortly after the controversy(争议) broke, John Lennon reluctantly apologized for the comment.

他解释说只是想表达人们是如何喜爱他们的乐队。

He explained that he was simply saying how other people viewed and liked the band. 

Beatles的歌曲能跨越国界和穿越时光流行的原因之一，是歌曲中有广泛的人文关怀和对待世界的积极态度。
