Warm-up question: What do you do to feel less nervous when you speak in public?

Visual aids are important in a speech, too. Use pictures and charts to help explain your ideas. It’s easier and clearer for people to understand.

Feeling nervous when you give a speech is common. A quick look at your notes is helpful. However, don’t read them through. Also, smiling helps make both you and your audience comfortable.

During the speech, note people’s reactions. If they look bored, add something new to catch their interest again. At the end of your speech, quickly repeat your main ideas. This helps your audience remember them.

Follow these tips, and you’ll do well on your next speech!
