A recent study discovered that how we phrase New Year's resolutions plays a huge part in whether or not we adhere to them. 

People were 12% more likely to stick to their resolutions if they avoided making vows such as "I will quit...". Only 47% of people who said they would avoid something were successful. However, 59% of people who had an “approachable goal” were able to stick to their resolution.
