Book8 ~ U7 故事
The Fox and the Crane
There once was a fox living alone in the forest.
One day he was bored, so he invited the crane to dinner.
“Thanks,”said the crane.“I accept your invitation!”
At dinner, the crane was disappointed .
The fox served nothing but soup.
He put the soup in big flat dishes.
The crane couldn't eat it.
The soup kept falling out of her long bill.
The fox laughed at her and called her silly.
“This is the worst dinner I have ever had,” the crane thought, but shedidn't tell the fox.
“My friend,”said the crane,“thank you for dinner.
Why don't you be my guest tomorrow? I make yummy soup.”
The next day, the crane made some delicious vegetable soup.
The lovely smell made the fox hungry.
However, when he sat down to eat, he couldn't.
The crane put the soup in tall glasses.
The fox's mouth couldn't reach the soup inside.
The fox said,“This is the worst dinner I have ever had!”
“I won't say sorry for the dinner,” said the crane,“for as everyoneknows, one bad turn deserves another.”
