可不是“打书”的意思

hit the books其实是：

study hard and read a lot about something

有点中国文化中的“凿壁偷光”、“悬梁刺股”的味道。

hit the books就是指“用功读书，读很多东西”的意思。

你想啊，都跟书碰到了，那说明看得非常仔细和认真啊。

注意，hit的过去式和过去分词都是hit。而hitting则需要双写t+ing。

It's time to hit the books if you want to improve your grades.

如果你想提高成绩，现在是认真学习的时候了。

这个短语也可以用pound the books来替代。

pound作名词时，表示“磅”，

而作为动词则有表示“撞击”的意思，

英文释义是to hit sth./sb. hard many times, especially in a way that makes a lot of noise

反复击打；连续砰砰地猛击。

Tom has an important test tomorrow, so he's pounding the books tonight.

汤姆明天有一场重要的考试，所以他今晚要用力学习。
