In the event of moon disaster

倘若月球有灾难

In their exploration, they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind(团结) more tightly the brotherhood of man.

In ancient days, men looked at the stars and saw their heroes in the constellations(星座).

在远古，人们仰望星空，在星座中看到英雄。

In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood.

Others will follow, and surely find their way home.

Man's search will not be denied.

背景：

1969年7月21日，人类乘坐阿波罗11号首次登上月球。阿波罗11号是阿波罗计划中发射的第5艘航天飞船，第三次登月尝试，也是第一艘载人成功登月的飞船。1969年7月16日，阿波罗1号载着机长尼尔·阿姆斯特朗、指挥舱飞行员迈克尔·科林斯和登月舱飞行员埃德温·奥尔德林。阿姆斯特朗和奥尔德林成为最先登月的地球人。当全世界都等着阿波罗11号在月球降落的时候考虑到最恶事态发生而写下的信，最终没有发表 。
