Capricorn is usually depicted（被表述为） as a goat or sea-goat, but in Greek Mythology he is the God Pan. Pan ruled over forests and woodlands, flocks and shepherds. From the waist down he was a goat and also had the ears and horns of a goat, and from the waist up he was a man. 

牧神和山林之神潘是众神的使者赫尔墨斯的儿子，他的异常独特，有着山羊角及胡子，上半身是人，而下半身却没有脚，而是羊蹄子。尽管如此，他是个优秀的音乐家。

Syrinx was a nymph（居住在山林水泽的仙子）in Greek mythology, who followed the goddess Artemis. The god Pan tried to seduce her, so she asked some river nymphs to help her escape. As a result, she was transformed into reeds（芦苇） that made a horrible sound when Pan would blow across them. Pan took the reeds, cut them in appropriate（合适的） lengths and turned them into pan pipes, which were named syrinx since then.
