凫鹥在泾，公尸来燕来宁。尔酒既清，尔肴既馨。公尸燕饮，福禄来成。
凫鹥在沙，公尸来燕来宜。尔酒既多，尔肴既嘉。公尸燕饮，福禄来为。
凫鹥在渚，公尸来燕来处。尔酒既湑，尔肴伊脯。公尸燕饮，福禄来下。
凫鹥在潨，公尸来燕来宗，既燕于宗，福禄攸降。公尸燕饮，福禄来崇。
凫鹥在亹，公尸来止熏熏。旨酒欣欣，燔炙芬芬。公尸燕饮，无有后艰。


The Ancestor's Spirit*

On the stream waterbirds appear；
On earth descends the Spirit good.
Your wine is sweet and clear，
And fragrant is your food.
The Spirit comes to drink and eat；
Your blessing will be sweet.

On the sand waterbirds appear；
On earth enjoys the Spirit good.
Abundant is your wine clear；
Delicious is your food.
The Spirit comes to drink and eat；
Your blessing will be complete.

On the isle waterbirds appear；
In his place sits the Spirit good.
Your wine is pure and clear；
In slices are your meat and food.
The Spirit eats and drinks sweet wine;
You will receive blessing divine.
Waterbirds swim where waters meet;
The Spirit sits in a high place.
In his high place he drinks wine sweet;
You will receive blessing and grace.
The Spirit drinks and eats his food；
You'll receive blessing doubly good.

In the gorge waterbirds appear；
Drunken on earth the Spirit good.

Delicious is your wine clear；
Broiled or roast your meat and food.
The Spirit comes to drink and eat；
You'll have no trouble in the least.
