Welcome to 6Minute Cabin English,I am Jerry. Meal service is an important and difficult jobfor the flight attendant because it is not just about providing food. It ishard to cater for all tastes with same food,not to mention the fact that somepeople would have individual requirments about it. In this program,we are goingto disscuss the problems about how to deal with passengers’ special requirementsfor the in-flight meal.

Catering can bedifficult because sometimes we are going to meet passenger's individual requirements.It could be vegetarian food requirement、religionbelief、and allergic problems. Usually,we will tryto find some substitutes in the trolley such as bread、fruitand yogurt in the food tray. There could also be one or two back-up vegetarianfood. Further more,every airline has its own special meal for passengers whohave such requirements. We would also recommend special meal service to passengerin case there is no appropriate meal catered for their needs.

餐饮服务有时候存在一些困难，因为我们要去满足旅客的个人需求。

Catering是指会议或社交活动的饮食服务，酒席承办，也就是飞机上的餐饮服务。

Meet 这里除了遇见，还有满足的意思

Individual相当于personal个人的

It could bevegetarian food requirement、religion belief、and allergic problems.

包括有素食的需求，宗教信仰的需求还有对某些事物过敏的问题。

allergic 过敏的  还有这些实用搭配 vegetarian food requirement 素食的需求

Religion belief 宗教信仰allergic 过敏的

Usually,we willtry to find some substitutes in the trolley such as bread、fruit andyogurt in the food tray.

通常我们会在餐盘中找一些替代食物包括面包、水果或者酸奶。

Substitute指替代品。Some toinstead of original meal 来代替原来餐食的食品

There could also beone or two back-up vegetarian food.

有些时候也会配备一两份备份的素食。

Back-up 备份的 可以用作形容词和名词

Further more，everyairline has its own special meal for passengers who have such requirements.

而且，每个航空公司都会为有需求的旅客提供特殊餐服务。

这句话如果你觉得太长了 可以删掉后半句的宾语补足语

 We would also recommendspecial meal service to passenger incase there is no appropriatemeal catered for their needs.

我们也会向旅客推荐特殊餐的选择，以防飞机上的餐食无法满足需求。

Recommend sth to sb把….推荐给某人

In case +从句表示 万一

Need 和 前面用到的requirement 都是表示需求的意思

所以，寻找食物的平替、提供水果点心、推荐提前点选特殊餐，就是我们用来服务对食物有特殊要求的旅客的统一方法….吗？

The difficulty ofcatering service-it is clear,as I said,is to meet people’s different tastes.For those who have special requirements of food, we have good ways to servethem.
