1.STATEMENT BY CHINA’S MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS ON PELOST’S VISIT TO TAIWAN

外交部就佩洛西窜访台湾地区发表声明

The Chinese Foreign Ministry yesterday strongly condemned US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to China’s Taiwan region in disregard of stern【严厉】 warnings from the Chinese side. In a statement, the ministry said the visit sent wrong signals to separatist【独立主义者】 forces seeking Taiwan independence. The ministry added that it has lodged solemn【严肃的】 representations and protests to the American side. Sun Siqi has the story.

昨日（8/2），美国国会众议长佩洛西不顾中方强烈反对和严正交涉，窜访中国台湾地区。对此，中国外交部发表声明指出，此举向"台独"分裂势力发出严重错误信号。中方对此坚决反对，严厉谴责，已向美方提出严正交涉和强烈抗议。记者孙思奇为您带来更多详细报道。

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Pelosi’s visit is a serious violation of the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-US joint communiques. It has a severe impact on the political foundation of China-US relations, and infringes【侵犯】 upon China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. There is now heightened tensions and severe challenges on the Taiwan Strait, and the fundamental cause is the repeated moves of the Taiwan authorities and the United States to change the status quo. The Taiwan authorities have kept seeking United States’ support for their independence agenda. They refuse to recognize the 1992 Consensus, go all out to push forward "de-sinicization", and promote "incremental【增加的】independence". The United States, for its part, has been attempting to use Taiwan to contain China. It says one thing but does the opposite on the Taiwan question. It constantly distorts, obscures and hollows out the one-China principle, steps up its official exchanges with Taiwan, and emboldens "Taiwan independence" separatist activities. China will definitely take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity in response to the Pelosi’s visit. All the consequences arising therefrom must be borne by the United States and "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.

中国外交部发表声明指出，此举严重违反一个中国原则和中美三个联合公报规定，严重冲击中美关系政治基础，严重侵犯中国主权和领土完整。当前，台海局势面临新一轮紧张和严峻挑战，根本原因是台湾当局和美方不断改变现状。台湾当局一再“倚美谋独”，拒不承认“九二共识”，大搞“去中国化”，推行“渐进式台独”。而美方企图搞“以台制华”，不断歪曲虚化掏空一个中国原则，加强美台官方往来，为“台独”分裂活动撑腰打气。中方必将采取一切必要措施，坚决捍卫国家主权和领土完整，由此产生的一切后果 必须由美方和“台独”分裂势力负责。

Shanghai Railway Station, Hongqiao Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station opened service counters that allow people to get everything done without having to go back-and-forth. In the past, people had to go to different counters to buy, change, or get a refund for a ticket. Zhang Hong has the details.

今年暑运，上海铁路三大站：上海火车站、虹桥火车站和上海南站推出了"一窗通办"服务窗口。乘客无需来回奔波，购票、退票、改签等，均可在一个窗口办理。在该服务窗口开设之前，乘客必须前往不同柜台进行购票、改签、退票等操作。记者张泓为您带来更多详细报道。

At Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, 72-year-old Ms. Pan and her husband bought two tickets to Zhuji, Zhejiang with cash, which is easier for them than using the automatic ticketing machine or buying tickets online.

在上海虹桥火车站，72岁的潘阿姨和老伴，用现金买了两张前往浙江诸暨的车票。虽说现在有便捷的自助售取票机或者网络购票，但对他们来说，还是现金买票方便。

A conductor said being at the counter that deals with various requirements is more challenging that before as they need to switch between different systems.

窗口另一头，售票员正熟练地切换不同的操作页面和系统。相较于之前单一的系统操作，“一窗通办”对他们提出了更高的要求，更具有挑战性。

We should be more proficient so that we can respond to passengers’ requirements faster. 

“一窗通办”要求售票员操作更加全面、更加熟练，这样才能根据旅客的需求做出快速的反应。

All of the counters at Hongqiao Railway Station can now handle all ticket-related services, while at Shanghai Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station only some of the counters are offering comprehensive ticket services.

目前，"一窗通办"服务已覆盖上海虹桥站全部窗口。上海站、上海南站也相继开设了"一窗通办"服务窗口。

The first cargo ship to leave a Ukrainian port under a UN-brokered deal reached the the Bosphorus at Istanbul yesterday. The ship passed the Joint Coordination Center safety inspection and is resuming its voyage to Lebanon. Stephen Rancourt has more.

The Sierra Leone-flagged ship Razoni, which left Odessa early on Monday with over 26,000 tons of corn, reached the Black Sea entrance of the Bosphorus Strait and anchored【抛锚】 last night.A total of 20 people from the JCC of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN boarded the ship to inspect the ship, the entire process took two hours.More ships from Ukraine are expected to set out in the coming days. 27 vessels have been waiting in three Ukrainian ports with cargo and signed contracts, ready to go, according to U.N. spokesman.

Ukraine’s armed forces said yesterday that the Ukrainian army repelled Russian attacks in several directions and intercepted【拦截】 a number of cruise missiles fired by Russian strategic bombers into Ukrainian territory.The Ukrainian government said more than 670 civilians have been evacuated from the Donetsk region.
