"The Genie in the Bottle"
This story is about a fisherman, a bottle and a BIG bad genie.
这个故事是关于一个渔夫,一个瓶子和一个大妖怪的故事.
Once upon a time, a fisherman went fishing.
很久很久以前，有一个渔夫出海捕鱼。
He threw his nets again and again.
他一次又一次地将网撒向大海。
He caught slimy seaweed…
他捕到了黏糊糊的海草，
shiny shells…
闪亮的贝壳，
and a smelly sock.
还有一只臭袜子。
Then, he caught something else.“A fish!”he cried.
这时,他捕到了一些别的东西，”他大喊道。
“是一条鱼！” 可是当他把网收上来发现它不是鱼。
But it wasn’t. It was an old bottle.那是一个旧瓶子.
He pulled out the stopper and looked in.
他拔下瓶塞往瓶子里面看,
“Empty,” he sighed.
“是空的，”渔夫叹了一口气。
And he threw it away.
随手就把瓶子扔掉了。
Suddenly, smoke poured out. The smoke turned into a huge face.
突然，瓶口冒出了一股浓烟。浓烟变成了一张巨大的脸。
“Help,” cried the fisherman.“A genie!”
”渔夫惊叫道:“救命啊！“是妖怪！”
The genie’s tummy rumbled.
妖怪的肚子咕噜噜地响。
“I’m hungry,” he growled. “I’m going to EAT you!”
吉妮低声厚道吼到：“我好饿啊！我要吃了你！”
“That’s not very kind,” said the fisherman.
渔夫说，“那样不太好吧。”
妖怪说道，“I don’t care. 我才不管呢.”
“I’m hungry,” shouted the genie.“I’ve been in that bottle for a long, long time.”
妖怪接着喊道，“我好饿啊，”，“我被关在那个瓶子里面很久很久了。”
the fisherman thought fast. I have to get him back in the bottle.
渔夫灵机一动, 心想：“我必须把它弄回瓶子里去。”
“You were inside this bottle?”he asked.
他问道：“你之前待在这个瓶子里？”
“YES,”snapped the genie.
妖怪回答说,“当然！”
The fisherman laughed.
渔夫笑了。
“You’d never fit,”he said.
他说：“哼,你根本就进不去。”
“Watch,” said the genie.
genie 说到,“你看着！”
He whooshed back in…
他嗖的一声钻回了瓶子里，
…and the fisherman pushed the stopper in hard.
渔夫赶紧把瓶盖用力盖严。
Then the fisherman went on fishing…
之后，渔夫就继续捕鱼去了，
…and caught a tasty fish for dinner.
而且还捕到了一条味道鲜美的鱼，并当做晚餐吃掉了。
