The Magic Ring

“The Magic Ring” Josh and Kip are on the shore.
Josh和Kip坐在海岸边。
They watch the tide come in.
他们看着潮水涌上来。
They’re stranded on an island.
他们被困在了一个小岛上。（strand 困住）
Josh is sad and he is thin.
Josh很伤心，而且他也很瘦。
There’re something lying in the sand.
沙子里好像埋着什么东西。
Josh calls out to his pup.
Josh对着他的宠物大声喊道。
“Is that a big fat fish, Kip?”
“Kip，那是一条又大又肥的鱼吗？”
“Be quick then, dig it up!”
“快点儿，把它挖出来！”
They hope it will be good at eat.
他们希望它能很好吃。
Kip gives his tail a wag.
Kip摇着它的尾巴。
No such luck.
没那么幸运。
It is a ring.“
它是一枚戒指！”
Let’s rub it with this bag.
让我们用这个袋子把戒指擦一下吧。Josh sighs,”It’s very pretty...”
Josh叹息道，“它真的非常漂亮！
But I wish I had a fish.
但我希望还是有一条鱼啊。
A flash of light , a cloud of stars.
一道闪电，一团星星，
A big fish on a dish.
一个盘子里放了一条大鱼
Josh cheers and grins at Kip.
Josh向着Kip欢呼，然后咧嘴一笑。
“Hooray, this ring is magic! ”
“万岁，这个戒指是有魔法哒！”
“Chin up, Kip.
振作起来，kip。
I am in luck.“
我太幸运了。
“I wish I had a ship.“
我希望我可以有一艘船。“
Now Josh and Kip are sailing home.
现在Josh和Kip正开着船回家呢。
But soon the wind grows shrill.
但是很快大就刮起了大风！(shrill在这里形容风的声音很大)
“I wish I had a coat,”says Josh
Josh说“我希望我可以有一件大衣。”
I will get a chill.
我会冻着凉的。.（chill 表示寒意；寒冷，寒战）
Then comes the most enormous crash.
然后接下来是一声巨响。
It gives them such a shock.
这让他们大吃一惊。
They slip and slide along the deck.
他们在甲板上滑来滑去。
The ship has hit a rock.
船撞到了一块礁石上。因为船身剧烈地晃动，
The magic ring goes flying,
魔法戒指飞走了。也是巧了，戒指落进了一条大鱼的嘴里。
Josh大声喊道，“NO！”“不！”
And Josh falls in the sea.
接着Josh也掉进了海里。
“Hop in quick ,Kip. Get it back for me!”
“快跳下来，Kip。把它给我找回来。”
The ring is lost .
戒指丢了！
The ship has sunk.
船也沉没了。
How gloomy can things get?
事情变得多么令人沮丧啊？
Then just in time , they hear a cry:
就在这时，他们听到了一阵呼喊：
Hang on to this net.
抓住这张网！
Now Josh and Kip are safe on board.
现在Josh和Kip都坐在船上。
And here’s a funny thing-
然后一些有趣事儿发生了-
A fish is in the net as well...
一条鱼也在网里面。
And in the fish-the ring!
戒指在鱼肚子里！
