There are two ways of describing the city of Dorothea: you can say that four aluminum[əˈlumənəm] 铝towers rise from its walls flanking [ˈflæŋkɪŋ] 两侧seven gates with spring-operated弹簧操纵 drawbridges[ˈdrɔˌbrɪdʒɪz]吊桥 that span the moat[moʊt]护城河whose water feeds four green canals which cross the city, dividing it into nine quarters, each with three hundred houses and seven hundred chimneys[ˈtʃɪmniz] 烟囱.
