Good morning
I’ll teach you an idiom today that you’ll hear often in native English speaking countries. It can be used when someone needs to take responsibility for his/her actions. They need to accept the consequences of their actions.
Idiom
face the music
Meaning: Accept the consequences of one’s actions. Take responsibility for the outcome of something that has been done.
Practice
The boy who got caught cheating on the exam had to face the music when the teacher discovered it.
Bob damaged his father’s car. He had to face the music when he told his father about it.
When the company started losing money, the boss had to face the music for it.
There are always consequences to dishonesty. One day you’ll have to face the music.
The leaders who take bribes and steal money have to face the music when they get caught.
Learn it and use it. When you do, you sound more like a native English speaker.
That’s all for today.
Goodbye for now.
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Thanks.
