被困洪水中

Mary and her parents were downstairs in the living room. Mary was looking through the windows at the endless rain outside. It had been raining non-stop for three days. She had never seen a storm this bad. It was making her nervous. The wind roared the rain beat on the roof and windows. 

玛丽和父母在楼下客厅。玛丽正透过窗户看着无尽的雨。雨，已经没完没了地下了三天。玛丽从未见过这么大的暴雨。她很紧张。风呼啸着，雨敲打着屋顶和窗户。

Dad was listening to a weather report on the radio, while Mum was putting their important documents and disaster supplies into a bag.

爸爸在听收音机里的天气预报，妈妈在收拾重要文件，把灾情应急物资装进袋子里。

“Mum, Dad,” said Mary suddenly, “I think we should leave here right away!”

“妈妈，爸爸，”玛丽突然说，“我想我们应该马上离开这里!”

“No,” said Dad. “It’s too late! The radio says the city has already been flooded.”

“不行，”爸爸说。“太晚了！广播里说这个城市已经被洪水淹没了。”

“We can drive our car through the floodwater! Let’s just leave! I’m really scared!” cried Mary.

“我们可以把车开过洪水！我们离开这里吧！我真的很害怕！”玛丽哭了。

“We can’t do that, honey,” explained Mum, “otherwise the moving water could wash the car away!”

“我们不能那样做，亲爱的，”妈妈解释说，否则流水会把车冲走!”
