Giving is receiving.
For some, the word “give” means sacrifice. But there’s big difference between giving and sacrifice. Giving is based on agenuine desire to help others. Sacrifice means in order to provide others withsomething you have to deprive yourself of it first.
Giving is healthy. Nature is constantlygiving up stuff and renewing itself:a tree sheds itsleaves; the sun releases its heat; your body sheds its skin.
Often when people give, in the back of theirminds they’re expecting something equally valuable back—maybe not today ortomorrow, but sometime in the future. But when you have faith in the idea thatlife will provide you with what you need, you’ll feel free to give withoutexpecting something back. Give your resources, talents and abilities to make adifference in the lives of others. Be generous. It’s the path to a more satisfyinglife.
