①A national political adviser's proposal that English be dropped as a core subject for Chinese primary and secondary school students has triggered heated discussion among experts and netizens.

一位全国政协委员就取消英语作为中小学课程主课的建议，在专家学者和网民之间引发热议。

②In a proposal to the ongoing two sessions-the annual meetings of the country's top legislature and top political advisory body-Xu Jin, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and also a member of the Central Committee of the Jiu San Society, one of China's eight non-Communist political parties, said that English should not be a core subject like Chinese and math and more course hours should be given to improving students' skills in physical education, music and art.

全国两会期间，全国政协委员、八大民主党派之一——九三学社中央委员许进提出建议，英语不再设为与语文和数学同等的主课，更多的课时应用于提高学生在体育、音乐和艺术方面的技能。
