Once upon a time there was a hen who wanted to grow carrots. So she planted some carrot seeds on her garden.
从前有一只母鸡想种胡萝卜。她在花园里种下了一些胡萝卜种子。

The carrot seeds grew and grew. They grew and grew and grew. One day the hen went out to check her carrots. 
胡萝卜种子长呀长，一天天变大。一天，母鸡出去看她的胡萝卜。

She could not believe her eyes. There was an enormous carrot. The hen pulled and pulled it again. 
她简直不敢相信自己的眼睛，眼前有一个巨大的胡萝卜。

But she could not pull up the enormous carrot. So she went to the dog. 
母鸡拔来拔去，也拔不出这个巨大的胡萝卜。于是她去找小狗。

"Help me pull up that enormous carrot, “she said. "I will help you, "said the dog. 
“帮我拔大胡萝卜吧。”她说。“我会帮助你的。”小狗说。

The hen and the dog pulled and pulled it together .But they still could not pull it up. So the hen went to the cat. 
母鸡和小狗一起拔萝卜，但他们还是不能把它拔出来。于是母鸡去找小猫。

"Help us pull up that enormous carrot, "she said. "I will help you," said the cat. 
“帮我们拔大胡萝卜吧。”她说。“我会帮助你们的。"小猫说。

All three of them pulled and pulled it together. But the carrot wouldn't still come out of the ground. So the hen went to the mouse. 
他们三个一起拔萝卜，但是胡萝卜是不肯从地里出来。于是母鸡又去找老鼠。

"Help us pull up that enormous carrot, she said. "I will help you, ”said the mouse. 
“帮我们拔大胡萝卜吧。”她说。“我会帮助你们的。”老鼠说。

The hen, dog, cat and mouse pulled and pulled it together. Up came the enormous carrot! 
母鸡、小狗、小猫和老鼠开始一起拔萝卜。终于胡萝卜拔出来了！

That evening they cooked the enormous carrot and ate it all together.
那天晚上，他们把胡萝卜煮熟后一起吃了。
