Recently I was confused with ‘going to ‘ and ‘will’. Then I checked online to find difference between these two words.
The common point is that we can use both of them to talk about the future.
Then what is the difference between going to and will?
Going to is for events in the future that you’ve already decided on in the past. It’s a plan, and it’s likely to happen soon. For example, I am going to travel next week. It means I planned to travel.
If we say that someday I’ll travel. It means it’s not likely to happen soon. It’s not a plan. It’s just a dream. Will is a rapid decision. something that was not planned in advance. For example, I am hungry . I think I’ll go get something to eat. Getting something to eat is a rapid decision.
