An art collector in Spain was shocked after the face of the Virgin Mary in a copy of a 17th century painting he paid to have restored was left unrecognizable. 

西班牙一名艺术品收藏家花钱请人修复一幅17世纪名画的复制品，但修复后的画作令他震惊不已，画中圣母玛利亚的面庞已难以辨认。

The private collector is said to have paid a furniture restorer 1,200 euros to carry out work on the copy of "The Immaculate Conception of Los Venerables" by the baroque artist Bartolomé Esteban Murillo.

The restorer's first effort was a disaster, leaving Mary's face disfigured, and the subsequent attempt to correct it just made it worse. The botched job has caused such outrage that art conservation experts in Spain have called on the government to enforce stricter laws for restoration work to preserve the country's history.

Male coronavirus survivors are being urged to give blood because of evidence that men produce more antibodies, which could make their plasma a more valuable treatment.

The research, by NHS Blood and Transplant, suggests men may hold the key in the battle against the virus.

Antibodies are produced when the body's immune system tries to fight off a virus. Men with COVID-19 tend to produce more antibodies than women with the virus because men are more likely to become seriously ill. Unilever says it is dropping terms like "whitening", "lightening" and "fair" from its marketing language to better promote racial inclusivity in the beauty industry. As part of the push, the consumer products giant will rename its Fair & Lovely product range.

The chief of the World Health Organization said Monday that all countries living with COVID-19 will be the new normal in the coming months, as the pandemic had already infected more than 10 million people worldwide, including nearly 500,000 deaths. "The critical question that all countries will face in the coming months is how to live with this virus. That is the new normal," said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at a daily press briefing.
