Finally, tonight, the little girl with the unusual question for Santa. Can you bring my mom a new heart? It's America trong. If you have any doubts about Santa Claus, there's a little girl in upstate New York ... who now has proof about the magic of Christmas. When Santa Claus asked what they wanted for Christmas, Sophie said she wanted for my mom to get a heart from the doctor's before she said what she wanted. It's hard for even Sophie's mom to tell this story. Her little girl asking santa, not for a toy, but for help. Mom needed a new heart. That was terrifying. Being in the hospital, just waiting. The 37 year old mother of four was diagnosed with a rare heart condition. In dire shape around the holidays, she was airlifted to the university of rochester medical center. She needed a lifesaving heart transplant, but they told her she was gonna have to wait. Someone in the family started to lose hope, but not little Sophie. She even told her grandmother not to worry. She wants a heart for mommy. And she goes, we'll all get what we want for Christmas. She wishes Santa claus is gonna bring them to us. She says. And soon after that Christmas wish, that's when the doctors came in and said that they by the grace of god, they had a heart for her, the surgery a success. And here's the moment, after spending weeks apart, the family finally reunited, and sophie wasn't done asking Santa for gifts. ... Christmas came early for this family, which can only mean one thing. Little Sophie is clearly on the nice list. Something like this really puts it into perspective that it's not about presents, ... being with your family, your loved ones.
