tutor a teenager in English

Yesterday I was assigned to tutor a teenager in English just one hour for free. 
昨天我被安排给一个十来岁的孩子进行一个小时的试学辅导。
Yeah, come to think of it, the senior high girl did click with me because she could literally follow me. Sure, my teaching performance, to my mind, really went off with a bang.  
嗯，现在想起来，那个高中女生还真和我很合拍，她能听懂我的讲解。当然，我想这次辅导还算很顺利。
I teach English by following a rule of thumb. However, most English teachers may disapprove of what I say and will yell out, "It does not ring true."

But it turns out that most English teachers are lacking in a full command of the essence of English, though.
