1．There is a difference betweenknowledge and wisdom , but without the one the other cannot be gained . Wecannot have a harvest of wheat without seed and skill of cultivation .Knowledge is the root of wisdom ; wisdom is the ripe fruit of knowledge .

2．The love of knowledge has beencharacteristic of most great men . They not only loved knowledge but they werewilling to work hard to attain it . When a man wins success , people say , ＂He is a genius . ＂But the real cause for his successwas that the love of knowledge led to the effort to obtain it .

3．Useful knowledge is the knowledgewhich is of benefit to ourselves and to others ; and that is the most importantwhich is the most useful . It is the belief of many people that knowledge isbetter than riches , and that its possession brings more comfort to the ownerthan anything else .

4．The power of intellectual knowledge, without the power of moral principle , often tends to evil . Character is thecriterion of knowledge . Not what a man has , but what he is , is the question. The quality of soul is more than the quantity of information . If we havenoble purpose , our intellectual attainments will naturally turn to theloftiest uses .

1．         智慧不同于知识，然而没有知识，也无法得到智慧，就如同没有种子和耕耘技术就没有收获。知识是智慧的源泉，智慧是知识的硕果。

2．                  伟人们教热爱知识，不仅如此，他们还孜孜以求地获取知识。一个人成功之后，人们往往说：“因为他是个天才。”而真正的原因是他对知识的渴求使他拥有了知识。

3．                  能够给我们自己和别人都带来益处的知识才是有用的知识。而最有用的知识才是最重要的知识。许多人相信：知识比财富更可贵，拥有知识比其它任何东西都令人充实。

4．                  世智辨聪的知识如果没有道德规范，常会导致邪恶。人品是评判知识的标准。问题的关键在于成为什么样的人而不是拥有什么。心灵的品质比知识的多少更重要。高尚的理论会使我们心灵的成就发挥在最崇高有益的方向。
