孔融让梨

In the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a person called Kong Rong. He was very clever ever since he was a little boy. He had five older brothers and one younger brother altogether. One day his father bought some pears for them. He was very happy. He picked the biggest pear and gave it to Kong Rong on purpose. But Kong Rong shook his head at once and picked up the smallest one. His father was very surprised and curious. Then he asked him, “Why not pick up the biggest one?” Kong Rong was very glad and answered, “I am younger, so I should eat the smaller pear, my elder brothers should eat the bigger ones.” His father was very happy to hear what he said. He asked him further,“What about your younger brother?” Kong Rong said, “I am older than him, so I should give the bigger one to the youngest brother.” Later, Kong Rong became a great scholar.
