Sam: Has anyone ever told you that you’re like… super 闷骚?

Mark: What? What does that even mean?

Sam: Like… ummm… I don’t know how to say it in English. It’s like you’re kind of shy, but you’re actually not.

Mark: What? That doesn’t make any sense.

Sam: It’s like… you act like you’re shy, but once people get to know you it turns out you’re not.

Mark: Like introverted?

Sam: No. Like… man this is impossible to explain. There’s no good English word!

b. it’s_like的连读

例：

It’s kind of like an Italian dumpling.

It’s like saying you really respect your parents.

2) Act (like)

a. = 做得就像…|装成…

b. Act的t会吞掉

例：

Act like you belong.

Act your age.

3) Get to know you

a. = 跟某人变熟

b. to会弱读成

例：

He’s really nice once you get to know him.

Don’t be scared of him. Just let him get to know you. (for dogs)

4) Turns out

a. = 原来（是这样）|结果…（跟你想的不一样）

b. turns_out的连读

例：

Turns out I don’t have time to meet this weekend.

Turns out I’m free this weekend!

5) Introverted

a. = 内向

b. introverted的反义词=extraverted

例：

He’s kind of introverted. Doesn’t like to socialise much.

6) Impossible

a. = 不可能

例：

You’re being impossible.

It’s impossible to know. (比如某件事情什么时候开始)

7) 孝顺

a. = （无法翻译）词典里出现的filial piety没有人用，更倾向于用通俗易懂的语言描述，比如he’s such a good soon或者He really respects his parents.

8) 闷骚

a. = 很难翻译，只能用某种比喻来解释。It’s kind of like you’re peter parker at first but then more like Spiderman once you get to know someone

9) 加油

a. = Come on! Go! (看球时用的)

b. = Good luck（对朋友说得）

10) 辛苦了

a. = thanks so much | sorry for the trouble (这两个可以用来表达一种带有尊重语气的谢意，比普通的thank you听起来更真诚)

11）阳光

a. = 难翻译而且没人这么说，可理解为optimistic、positive等
