“Paint the Bible creation story on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel!”

The pope ordered this in 1508.

How did Michelangelo paint on the ceiling?

First, he tried hanging from a rope.

However, looking up at the ceiling hurt his neck.

Next, he tried building a bridge from one side of the chapel to the other.

He lay down on his back to paint.

The paint dripped in his eyes, so he could not see well.

But he kept painting all by himself.

After four years, the painting was finished.

Today, it is famous all over the world.
