1. till&until的区别

含义：到…..为止

till和until意思相近，但用法有别：

till——（口语化，用于句中）肯定句中与延续性动词连用，表示“直到……为止”；否定句中与非延续性动词连用，表示“在……以前，直到……（才）”。

until——（书面化，用于句首或句中）肯定句中与延续性、持续性动词连用，表示“直到……为止”，即表示某一种行为一直持续到某一时间；否定句（not…until）中与瞬时性、短暂性动词连用，表示“直到……才，不到……（不）”，即直到某一时间，某一行为才发生，之前该行为并没有发生。

The shop's open till nine o'clock onFridays.

这家商店周五营业到9点。

Not until 1985 did he come back.

直到1985年他才回来.

Until then, I knew nothing about it.

在那之前,我对此一无所知.

2. until的用法

倒装句 Not until... ：

Not until 放句首的时候，后面的句子要倒装，也就是说如果原先的句子有一般动词，则要在主词前面加上助动词do / does / did；那如果句子含有be 动词的话，则将be 动词与主词位置对调。

举例：

原句：The boy didn't tell the truth until his sister was scolded.（直到他姐姐被责骂了，那男孩才说出实话。）

→ Not until the boy's sister was scolded did the boy tell the truth.

原句：She was not happy until her boyfriend apologized to her.（直到她男友向她道歉，她才开心了一点。）

→ Not until her boyfriend apologized to her was she happy.

原句： A hero doesn't appear until the world really needs one.

→Not until the world really needs a hero does he appear.
