嗯，是自己想的：
整理一下可得：掌控现在→（逆时间）掌控过去→掌控未来（承接关系）
从三个时间段来说，现在也正是我们唯一能够掌控的。
从你的现在即可以得知你过去的情形。
而你的过去的情形同样也决定了你的未来。
毕竟江山易改，本性难移。
也就是说这三个时间段之间是息息相关的。
现在（可得知）→过去（可决定）→未来

这是一首英国的童谣，名字叫Oranges and Lemons，直译“橘子和柠檬”，我没有中文版翻译，不过英文原文倒是有的：
