At a coffee shop, drinks are usually made from espresso. An espresso is a small amount of very strong coffee. This small amount is called a shot. It is mixed in different ways to make the different coffee drinks.

shot 剂量（一盎司）

美式咖啡Caffè Americano = espresso + hot water

卡布奇诺Caffè Cappuccino=espresso +steamed milk +foamed milk on top

拿铁咖啡Caffè Latte=espresso +lots of steamed milk

摩卡Caffè Mocha=espresso +hot chocolate +steamed milk

1.     杯量

小 – 中 – 大 – 超大

small – medium – large - extra large

short – tall – grande – venti

2. 冷饮或热饮

hot ? or iced?

3.     咖啡浓度

extra shot / double shot 加倍

triple shot三倍

decaffeinated (decaf) 不含咖啡因

half-decaf 咖啡因减半

4.     所加入奶的种类

non-fat / skimmed milk 脱脂奶

semi-skimmed milk 半脱脂奶

soy milk豆奶

If you want coffee without milk, ask for a black coffee.  

5.     糖浆syrup

caramel 焦糖

hazelnut 榛果

vanilla香草

6.     特殊要求

with extra foam 多一些奶泡

extra hot 要烫一些

with light ice 少冰

Please go easy on ice.

When giving your order, you usually say the size first, then the type of coffee, and finally the type of milk or extras. 点咖啡时，一般先说咖啡的大小，在说咖啡的种类，最后再补充其它个人喜好。eg:

Small cappuccino with caramel syrup 

Large iced latte with low-fat milk
