From the information provided, it is clear that the average Chinese resident spent more money in the consumption of food, cigarette, wine and residence, which was 4597 RMB and accounted for 52% of the total per capita resident consumption in the first half year of 2017. Specifically, the per capita consumption amount of food, cigarette and wine was 2678 RMB and accounted for 30.3% of the total per capita resident consumption. The percentage of per capita residential consumption, 21.7%, was 8.6% lower than that of food, cigarette and wine.

These 6 remaining expense categories from the graph are living goods, transportation and communication, clothing, education and entertainment, medical treatment and other consumptions. The percentage of these consumptions was very close to each other. For example, the percentage of per capita clothing consumption was 7.6%, while the percentage of per capita medical treatment consumption was 8.1%.

In conclusion, we can see that the major expenses of the average Chinese resident were from basic living needs such as food and residence demand in the first half year of 2017.
