The act of tightening a tie might be restricting the blood flow to the brain, according to a new study of University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein in Germany.
根据德国舒勒斯维-荷斯泰因大学的一项最新研究，打领带可能会阻碍血流进入大脑。

Cerebral blood flow was found to drop by an average of 7.5% in the men wearing a necktie. By compressing the veins in the neck, tie-wearers could be pushing blood into the skull and creating an unhealthy build-up of pressure. 

研究发现，打领带的男性的脑血流量平均下降7.5%。戴领带的人紧压脖子上的血管，可能会将血液压入骨骼，形成不健康的血压。

The difference isn't enough to be a serious health risk to most people, the researchers from the university say, but it might cause problems for groups that are already at risk from blood pressure issues, like smokers or the elderly.

Previous studies have already linked tight ties with an increase in pressure on the eyes, and a possible association with glaucoma risk as a result.

Police armed with slingshots

Police officers in the Mexican town of Alvarado were recently stripped of their firearms and armed with slingshots and rocks instead, after most of them failed their control tests and were deemed unfit for service.

After only 30 officers of the 130-member police department in Alvarado managed to pass their control tests for the use of firearms, Yunes Linares, governor of the Mexican state of Veracruz, decided to strip the entire department of firearms.
