1.testify ['testɪfaɪ]
v. 证明，证实 
testify someone's honesty  证明某人诚实
Several eyewitnesses testified that they saw the officers hit Miller in the face.

2.certify ['sɜːtɪfaɪ]
v. 证明；保证
The driver was certified (as) dead on arrival at the hospital.
刚送到医院，司机就被证实已经死亡。

3.ascertain [,æsə'teɪn]
vt. 确定；查明
The police have so far been unable to ascertain the cause of the explosion.
警方到目前为止尚未查明爆炸原因。

vt. 核实；查证
I looked up the word in a dictionary to verify its spelling.

10.guarantee [gær(ə)n'tiː]
n. 保证；担保；保证人

The fridge is guaranteed for the three years.
