Divorce rate is actually goingdown – 8.5 divorces per 1,000 married people (2015) compared with 14 per 1,000(1993).

The average age to get divorcedis between 40 and 44 in the UK – older couples are more likely to divorce.

The number of people gettingmarried is falling - 9.8% of the population cohabit(2016) - 20% of parents are not married (common-law).
