XVIII 第18首
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate(温和的):
Rough winds do shake the darling buds(花蕾) of May,
And summer's lease(本指租期,这里指期限) hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven(天眼,自然指太阳) shines,
And often is his gold complexion(肤色,气色) dimmed(暗淡,灰暗),
And every fair from fair(指everything that’s beautiful) sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed(变得杂乱:trim原来指修剪):
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair(fair lady的fair:beauty) thou ow'st(指的是own),
Nor shall death brag(夸口) thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
