Being prejudiced is having an unreasonable or unfair feeling or opinion about something, especially when formed without enough knowledge or thought.

 

prejudiced：有偏见的，有成见的对于某事抱有不公正的不合理的看法或者感情，尤其指没有足够了解和思考而形成的偏见。

 

Someone who is broad-minded is willing to accept and respect other people's beliefs and behavior that differ from one's own.

With little knowledge of a travelling destination, it is not strange for a traveler to experience culture shock, hence develop biases against what is coming their way.

 

解释：

People rarely have the time or the right tools to fully understand a foreign culture.

 

例子1： 

Most people only travel abroad once or twice a year amongst their busy work schedule, so grasping the customs and cultures of their travel destination may be too much to ask. Without much knowledge, it is no wonder they land wide-eyed in a foreign country.

 

例子2： 

Some people do search about their destination, but when you get your information from the Internet or mass media, there is a likely chance that you see foreign people in only the broadest of strokes. Seeing news segments and movies does not really show you what people from a certain country are like, and you do not get to see the whole truth most of the time.

 

结论：

It is because people normally do not form enough knowledge about their travelling location that they do not build enough preparation mentally to let go of their bias and accept the foreign culture.
